Cindy the gardener is not happy with the recent lack of rain and cold weather, but Cindy the runner is adoring this weather.
Both Saturday and Sunday for gorgeous days to run. Saturday was overcast and cool; Sunday was bright and chilly.
I met Jenny at the Town Lake Hike and Bike Trail both days, set my iPod to just loud enough to be able to chat over the music, and set off. We intended to run the 3.1 mile loop both days, but Jenny’s been suffering from a cold and needs to recover, so we walked part of the way. No problem for me — it was too beautiful outside not to appreciate the time away from home.
I LOVED wearing my new Lulu running cap on Sunday morning. It kept me quite comfortable. And I felt good both days, but I think I’ll switch back to my old Vibrums for running. My new ones rubbed one of my arches and gave me a blister.
On Sunday I followed it up with the free Crossfit boot camp at Lululemon, which was pretty fun. Jenny went with me, but they didn’t let us team up for the partner WOD since we knew each other.
2 rounds (with a partner)
50 Wall balls
40 Push ups
30 Overhead squats (with PVC pipe)
20 Med ball slams
It turns out my partner just had a baby, too! I didn’t remember her from the Crossfit Central article on all the pregnant clients, but Stephanie had her baby on the same day I had Madeline — cool, huh?
Our time was 8:33 — we rocked it!
Jenny was not a fan of the burpees (I don’t blame her), and it drew some interesting and funny comments on Facebook. Just because I can, here’s a video demo of what a burpees should look like:
